See the process behind one of our favorite cards – from paint to press.
Sarah paints each layer of color on large sheets of recycled chipboard. This card takes four rounds of hand painting to complete. First, the deep teal is rolled on with a customized paint roller. Then, Sarah paints 3 layers of brush strokes in fluorescent yellow, magenta, and finally a bright vermillion.
The sheets are cut down to size before being foil stamped on our letterpress. The quality of each card is inspected and we remove any card that is not up to standard.
Our pressman, Jody, carefully monitors the quality of the foil impression. He makes minor adjustments to create an even foil stamp on each card.
The final cards are letterpress printed on the back side and then packaged by hand.
